This hand-crafted Stradivarius model violin was built by a master violin builder, my Grandfather Joe, in 1975. It carries a bright, lively sounding voice with a crisp touch of brilliance. This violin is very responsive and makes a good quality fiddle that would be a great fit for a more experienced amateur player. Hand crafted from European tone woods of good quality and appearance. The one piece back sides and neck are crafted from lightly flamed maple wood. The top plate was hand carved from a two piece “AA” quality spruce wood. Finish was applied using oil varnish hand rubbed and polished to a beautiful luster.

Old Luthier techniques were used for this build that include hand carving of the top and back plate along with old school sounding techniques used by top quality instrument builders. The arching is moderate and to model specifications.

Back Plate material – “AA” quality lightly flamed 1-piece European maple.

Sides - “AA” quality lightly flamed European maple.

Top plate – European “AA” quality close grained 2-piece Swiss spruce.

Sound Bar – spruce.

Blocking, kerfling and brace material – spruce.

Finger board, pegs, tail piece and chinrest – Ebony.

Bridge – Good quality maple.

Strings – Prelude medium steel.

Finish material – Oil varnish

Case – German Town Suspension case with straps and padding.

Bow – Artino Braided carbon fiber 4/4/ size BF-21.

Bow, violin case, Kaplan dark rosin, flannel cloth and Artino Ergo shoulder rest included.
